My first experience of yoga at the age
of 16,
ignited my interest in holistic care. I
will always remember the feeling I
had when I left my first class - calm,
alert and refreshed.
Practicing
yoga has enriched the lives of many people. It has provided
me with a set of tools to help keep my life in balance and I have been
very lucky to have had such excellent tutors as I explored different
styles of yoga over the years. I finally settled into the practice of Hatha Yoga and then trained for three years to become a teacher with the
British Wheel of Yoga.
After the BWY training, I specialised in
Children's Yoga, attending the BWY
children's yoga module with Swami
Vedantananda. The course material and
Swami Vedantananda's teaching totally
inspired me. So much that I am teaching
the BWY module to diploma holders!

Before training as a yoga teacher, I
practised holistic health care for 22 years as a registered general
nurse (RGN). I developed skills in counselling, health promotion and
health education and I trained and practised in a range of complementary
therapies, including holistic massage, Indian head massage and
reflexology".
